Starting Off the Season with a Kick

While going down the field, senior Olivia Osborn takes the ball from a south opponent and kicks it away. The ball was taken and passed in an attempt to make a goal on March 20.

The first game of the season for girls varsity soccer was on March 20 against Fort Zumwalt South. This was an intense game, with no goals till the last 10 min of the game. The score was 1-0 with Central taking home a loss, but it served as a learning experience for the girls. Senior Olivia Osborn explains how this game was a great thing for the girls starting off so they can make improvements going forward. 

“I think it was a good learning experience. It shifted our mindsets to make us want to play better for upcoming games” Osborn said.

The next girls varsity soccer game will be on April 2 against Liberty at Francis Howell Central.

The Last Hurrah
Freshman Selah Rodriguez escapes from Marquette's defensive pressure and looks for an open teammate to shoot to on April 14. Rodriguez’s eyes glanced to her left and charged up to kick.

As freshman Chloe Bond runs down the field, the opponent follows after her. She protected and guarded the ball so she will be able to pass it to her teammates on April 9.
