With the year drawing to an end, many members of the senior class gathered together for one of the last times to be appreciated for their accomplishments. On May 7 at 6:30 p.m, the auditorium became filled with the sounds of sustained applause and the voice of Mr. Patrick Reed announcing the names of all the seniors in attendance. The ceremony began with each senior’s name and college and career plans being said as loved ones cheered for the upcoming graduates. Before the specific awards were announced, senior Micah Dorsey performed “At Last” for the crowd. Dorsey is a member of the choir program, and she found the experience to be nerve-racking, but still enjoyable.
“I was terrified, I was actually shaking the whole time I sang. But it was very nice, everybody was cheering me on.” Dorsey said.Â
The senior class has its last day of school on May 22 and graduation will take place on June 6 at the Family Arena at 8:30 a.m.
