Eight games played in the last month and the Spartans’ undefeated record has dropped to 15 wins, two losses and one tie. They suffered two defeats to CBC and FZW, with scores of 6-1 and 5-1, respectively.
“[At] the CBC game, we were missing some of our top players, and we were going in nervous,” said junior Chad Edgecomb. “I think they out-played us and the nerves got us. The West game was the same deal.”
Despite the drop in their record, the hockey boys are still in first place in their conference. They proved their talent in a victory last night over Wentzville Holt with a score of 11-0.
“Just as a team, I think that was one of the best games we’ve ever played,” Edgecomb said. “Most of us were able to get two or three goals.”
The boys’ next game is this Friday against Chaminade at 9 p.m. at the Hardees Ice Plex in Chesterfield.
