The Spartans made history Feb. 26 at Hardee’s Iceplex with a victory over St. Louis University High School. Their 3-0 shutout in the second and final game of the semifinals made them the first ever St. Charles County school team to advance to state finals.
The score remained 0-0 throughout the first period and most of the second, until a breakaway goal scored by sophomore forward Brennan Anderson with 30 seconds left in the period put the Spartans up 1-0.
A second goal was scored with 11:12 left on the clock in the third period by senior forward Jalen Krogman and a third by Anderson with 4:33 left.
At the final buzzer SLUH had taken 43 shots on goaltender Zach Grabowski, not one of them slipping by his defense.
FHC will go on to face CBC at the Challenge Cup Finals at the Scottrade Center on March 8 at 8 p.m.
