Coach Jason Becker and his Ultimate Frisbee team played two games on Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3.
Saturday, they played at DeSmet, who are three-time state champions. On Sunday, the team played at home against Ladue. The team won both games, with a score of 12-10 at DeSmet and 13-4 at home.
The practices, according to the coach, have reached a stable point.
“[It’s] pretty good; they’re very productive practices. We’ve stopped adding strategies and started refining fundamentals,” said Coach Becker.
The team is also working on tweaking its current strategies, which the coach believes are good enough to handle the teams that they will play on Saturday and Sunday, April 9 and 10.
On April 9, they will be playing Parkway North, which has a large team of about thirty players. The following day, the Spartans will be playing the Marquette team.
According to Coach Becker, there is a handler on the Parkway North team, Daniel Scribner, that could provide a challenge.
“He’s pretty sick,” said Coach Becker. “Beating them largely consists of stopping Danny.”
