Boys varsity track team brings home medals

The Fort Zumwalt West Invitational resulted in the boys varsity track team bringing home a total of three medals.

“I think we showed more improvement at the invitational on Tuesday,” said senior Bryan Metcalfe.

Metcalfe was one of three members of the relay team that placed third, along with senior Zach Taylor, junior Josh McKinley and senior Devon Farrow. Taylor was also a medalist in the 800 meter run and brought home the gold.

“McKinley finished third place in the 1600 meter run,” said Coach Travis Wilson. “The 1600 meter relay closed the meet with a third place finish.”

The next invitational that the boys team will be competing in is in University City this Saturday. According to Metcalfe, the invitational is very competitive; the same is true for the Rockwood Summit invitational that will take place the following Saturday.

The overall goal that the boys team is striving to meet is improving times each week, according to Metcalfe.
