Relay team’s youngest member shares success

The girls track team and its success is due to the talent and dedication of its members. One of these members is sophomore Destinee Corrigan. She is the only sophomore on the team that is a permanent runner in the 4×100, 4×200 and 4×400 races.

“I really enjoy track because of my friends; they are what make it fun. Also, the fact that we’re a successful team makes it that much better. It’s great when we win medals together,” said Corrigan.

However, track is not all fun and games.

“The most difficult part about track would have to be the practices. Our coach will run us two times as hard, so when we’re actually in a race, it doesn’t feel so long,” said Corrigan.

Nevertheless, the girls are satisfied and want to continue to improve, according to Corrigan.

“I’m so proud of the team. We always work hard, and it always pays off! We want to better our own [personal records] and we want to make it to state. That’s our overall goal. We’re not sure if we’re going to meet it, but we are a very talented group,” said Corrigan.
