Due to the Easter holiday, the Spartan Ultimate Frisbee team did not have any scheduled games. The team also did not have any practices due to the weather.
“The risk of injury this close to the state tournament is just too great,” said Coach Jason Becker.
The one practice the team did have was a little rough, according to Coach Becker. When the weather begins to get in the way of practices and games, Coach Becker believes it gets difficult to focus when they so seldom play.
Although the team does not have any alternative plans for when the weather repeatedly gets in the way, Coach Becker plans to have practice whenever possible. The team will practice on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday as usual, weather permitting.
On Sunday, May 1, the Spartans will play a doubleheader against the DeSmet and Priory junior varsity teams.
“It will be a good chance for our new additions from the junior varsity team to get a lot of playing time and to face some game situations with the newly integrated squad,” said Coach Becker.
