GACs conclude the track season

Last week, the girls track team participated in the finale of the season – GACs, or the Gateway Athletic Conference.

“This past week, both the goys and girls teams competed in the GAC South Conference meet and earned quite a few medals,” said Coach Travis Wilson. “The girls team boasts several conference champions.”

The JV 4x200m relay team took 1st place. The team members were sophomore Mica Hogan, freshman Abby Woods, sophomore Bria Miller and freshman Courtney Riportella. The Varsity 4×100 team also earned gold medals. Team members were junior A’Lanesha McFarland, junior Lauren Rotondo, sophomore Destinee Corrigan and sophomore Kaela Henry.

Sophomore Bria Miller earned a 1st place finish in the JV 300m Hurdles.

“The last couple weeks have produced more recognition for the Spartans,” said Coach Wilson.

Other medalists include the Varsity 4×200 meter team with 2nd place. Team members included McFarland, Rotondo, Corrigan and Henry. The JV 4×100 meter team finished 3rd place and team members included Hogan, freshman Brianna Daggs, sophomore Kayly Nielsen and Riportella. The JV 4x400m relay team finished in 3rd place and team members included sophomore Alexis Mayfield, Woods, Miller and Riportella.
