The Ultimate Frisbee team won 15-1 over Parkway South on Sunday, April 21. This big win shows how vastly the team has improved throughout the season and also proves that they are hungry for a state title. With just one double-header before state competition, it is essential for the team to be at the top of their game.
“We hope to pick up two wins this weekend to improve our seeding in the state championship tournament,” Coach Jason Becker said. “Skill-wise, I hope to add at least one more defensive scheme and continue to help the team improve on breaking the mark.”
Currently, the team is seated fifth out of 18 teams in their league. According to Coach Becker, the top ten of those teams will play for the state championship, and FHC’s team is ensured a spot. This seating is a huge accomplishment for the 90 percent rookie team.
“We’ve improved vastly,” Coach Becker said. “The team has learned a ton about how the game is played and has improved nearly every skill imaginable.”
The frisbee team will play Clayton at 1 p.m. and Parkway North at 3 p.m. on Sunday, then compete in the state competition May 5-6.
