After tying up the game, the Spartans put on a show in overtime, finally taking the lead and defeating the St. Charles West Warriors, 77-69. The lead kept shifting back and forth, but the Spartans were able to hold on, and eventually secure the win. Senior Nathan Rush describes a little of what the mindset is for such a close game.
“We’re just trying to work harder and put our best ability on the floor,” Rush said. “There’s a lot of energy brimming up, the entire team was involved in the victory. You’re trying to win every game, you’re not out there to lose.”
The boys will continue to improve before their next match on the night of Jan. 9, in the large gym.
