Showcasing months of rehearsal, the choir program hosted its Choir Showcase concert on Mar. 2, featuring performances from Treble Choir, Chamber Choir, and several student soloists. Throughout the night, singers combined choreography, solos, and group harmonies while performing a variety of pieces for the audience. While many students had performed in choir before, senior Katelyn Hewing took the stage for the first time after joining the class only a month earlier. Coming from a band background, Hewing said learning to blend her voice with the rest of the choir pushed her to adjust to a different style of performing.
“I’ve mostly been in band, so choir was really different for me,” Hewing said. “I had to learn how to blend instead of standing out, but I was proud of myself because it challenged me and it was something new.”
