Disappointment fell among the court with time running out during the JV girls soccer game as attempted goals failed and plays were intercepted. The girls competed on April 7 against Fort Zumwalt West with all their might, but fell short of scoring any goals throughout the game. The match ended in a score of 0-0 with both teams head to head with performance on the field. A dominant player on the field from Central, sophomore Karsyn Black, competed with confidence as well as grit. Black and her coach, Kate Shipp, noticed what her and her team needed to work on to improve their gameplay in the future.
“She was talking about how we need to communicate better, and how she really wanted us to work together,” said Black. “I think we [are] too independent [on the field], and we need to move together as a team.”
The JV girls went on to lose their following game on April 9 against Francis Howell with a 4-1, but there is still hope for their final game against and at Holt on April 23 at 4 p.m.
