Last year, the boys volleyball team lost in the quarterfinals and ended its season with a record of 26-8-2. Although getting to quarterfinals is a huge accomplishment, senior libero Garrett Navratil believes the team may go farther.
“I think we are going to make it to state,” Navratil said. “We have a lot of good hitters on offense. [Our team] is well on its way to being really good.”
Because the team did not lose many seniors last year, the varsity team is full of experienced players who are ready to win state.
“We have a great squad of guys who’ve been chasing the state title for two years now,” Navratil said.
The only thing that has not gone smoothly in this preseason is deciding on setters. As of right now, two setters are being considered for a setting position: senior Ryan Miller and junior Justin Cather. The team’s first game will be March 27, and by then, one of the two will be a setter.
