The Dominance of Rivalry
Considering the Francis Howell school district is factioned into separate schools, rivalries are inevitable. The Francis Howell Central and Francis Howell North rivalry is one that is ripe with competition. On Tuesday Feb. 4, the FHC varsity girl’s team displayed superiority against FHN, winning by a wide margin of 71- 43. Junior Sophia Tweedie describes the rivalrous culture as a positive aspect.
“I think the rivalry brings out more competitiveness amongst the teams,” Tweedie said. “I think it’s a good thing.”
As the season comes to a close, the competition will only increase. The Varsity girl’s next game is on Feb. 25 at FHC, preceding not far before Districts on Mar. 2.
