Volleyball team builds chemistry

The varsity boys volleyball team has been preparing for the season by filling positions vacated by last year’s team and are preparing for another successful season. Crucial to the success of the team this season is the team’s new setter.

“We have been working on having the new setter Jordan Alsobrook connect with all the hitters,” said junior hitter Dillon Holmes. “The connection has been getting better every practice.”

Following a run to second-place in state last year, the team had to replace more than just the setter in order to keep the team at the same caliber.

“I don’t expect us to be as good as [we were] last year, but we have good players and will hopefully have another good year,” said Holmes.

The team will open the season against area powerhouse school DeSmet at 6:15 p.m. Friday.
