Varsity boys volleyball is on a four match winning streak, including a win over No. 1 ranked St. Louis University High Thursday night two sets to none. The team found itself winning due to clean plays and good serves according to senior outside hitter Adam Werts.
Werts believes it was a defining moment for the season.
“[SLUH] was number one going into the game,” said Werts. “It was difficult to win, but our hearts were in it. We really wanted to prove ourselves.”
Following this victory, the Spartans defeated Fort Zumwalt North on Friday night and secured a victory at home Tuesday night against Fort Zumwalt West two sets to one.
The team hopes to improve on its 14-3 record when it hosts rival Francis Howell tomorrow. The team is looking for revenge.
“They beat us earlier in the season, so we want to get even against our rivals,” said Werts.
The game starts at 6 p.m.
