The girls JV basketball team played Liberty High School on Feb. 6, challenging the girls on how well their team could stick together when the game gets rough. The team worked together to overcome their opponents and officially ended the game with a winning score of 23-17. The girls basketball team was combined with JV and C-team as there were not enough girls to make a full team alone, but continued to make the best of what they had. Freshman Chloe Bond has been playing basketball since seventh grade, being involved with the Junior Spartans. Bond describes what it means to be a good teammate.
“Being able to take constructive criticism is an [important part], and trying to do what’s best for the whole team,” Bond said. “[Always] being there for [others], but also, pushing each other to be the best you can for the whole team.”
The girls next game will be at and against Fort Zumwalt West on Feb. 13.
