When one door closes another one opens

This year there were countless festivals, performances, and concerts performed by the various band sections. There were also a few firsts, such as this year having the most people participate in solo and small ensemble festivals and having the most superior “1” ratings at the district level.

“This was a great year for music; there were so many successes,” said Band Director Nathan Griffin.

Another first in the school’s band history was the participation in the all state honor band by two students, senior Luke Eckhoff and senior Logan Miller. This was also the first consecutive year the wind ensemble has received a superior “1” rating. The Jazz bands both placed the highest in school history and had two second places and one first place finish at the jazz contests attended this year.

The entire year was bursting with success.

“This has overall been one of the best musical years that the Spartan Band Program has seen in its existence,” said Mr. Griffin.
