Fall season starts up

This week kicks off the start of the 2011 high school season for fall sports. Activities Director Scott Harris has a full schedule balancing the start of the school year and preparing for the upcoming season.

“We are excited for the start of the season, but traditionally, this is the busiest time of the year for us,” Harris said.

One of the events that the students and activities administrators are excited about is the Sept. 10 football game at the Edward Jones Dome. The Spartans will be playing conference opponent, Wentzville Holt.

“This game is a great opportunity for the team and the school as a whole,” Harris said.

The game is part of an event that showcases local teams, and the games will be televised. Each team is also required to submit a team member who is a scholar athlete to help place emphasis on the importance of academics for high schools student athletes.
