With one band season’s end, another begins
The winter drumline and winter guard seasons are currently upon Central. The winter drumline had its auditions and clinics, a quick how-to course on what one will be learning, on Mon, Nov. 7 and the winter guard will have its auditions and clinics on the following Tues, Nov. 15.
“The winter groups are really just starting their seasons,” said band director Mr. Nathan Griffin.
“They will start competing in Jan., Feb., and March.”
After the auditions and clinics, both the winter drumline and winter guard will begin preparing for the annual Winter Concert. The concerts will take place in Central’s auditorium on Dec. 7 and 8 at 7p.m. The winter concerts will include the concert bands on Dec. 7 and the jazz bands on Dec. 8. The music of choice for the evenings will contain a mixture of various holiday tunes and traditional band pieces.
“Both nights should be a lot of fun,” said Griffin.
