District issues warning regarding ‘suspicious individual’

Early Thursday evening, Superintendent Pam Sloan sent out an e-mail warning to all district faculty and staff, as well as an eNEWS alert to parents.

“The District has recently learned of a situation concerning student safety,” the e-mail said. “It has been reported that a suspicious white male, approximately 40-50 years old, driving a white SUV has been seen in the Warren Elementary and Francis Howell Central High School attendance areas. The man has approached parents and students at bus stops asking unusual questions. The area police departments have been notified.”

Dr. Sloan went on to say if anyone should observe such “suspicious activity,” take note of the license number, color, make and model of the vehicle, as well as any identifying marks on the vehicle. Also, be able to describe the suspect, noting approximate height and weight; color, length and style of hair; presence of facial hair; distinctive clothing, or other markings.

A hard copy of the notice is expected to be sent home with students Friday.
