One small step for FHC softball

After not winning a district title in 10 years, the Spartan softball team was determined to lose that streak once-and-for-all. The team had a very strong record through the season, and was actually the favorite to win districts this year. The Spartans versed off against Hazelwood West, a team that, in a previous matchup, they had won 12-2 against. So, they had faith in their team. Central has proven to be a very offensive team this season, with senior, Claudia King, 2 home runs shy from the school record.

“We never want to undermine a team, however, we have proven superior to Hazelwood in the past, and I think we can pull this win off”, said senior Alyssea Braun.

In the end, the Spartans won 10-0 and made them district champions. They then moved on to play Troy in Sectionals, and unfortunately lost to the state-champ favorites.
