Junior Kaden Hart prepares to pin his opponent. Hart placed first at the District Championship, meaning he will advance to State.

The varsity boys wrestling team competes their hearts out for their place in the state tournament. The team had a hard fought district tournament on Feb 14-15. with many of the individuals advancing to the semi-finals round. In the end the team sent on 4 athletes to the state tournament. Aidan Hernandez being one of them he hopes to take his place on the podium in the upcoming week.

Districts raised spirits about placing at state, “I feel good about my chances at state because I beat a kid that beat me” Hernandez says. With high hopes and goals he looks forward to “the environment and wrestling in front of so many people” as he works toward his goal of placing top 3.

The 4 male state qualifiers and the 2 female will be wrestling for their spot on the podium in Columbia, MO at Mizzou on Feb 20-22.
