After a long fight against the Trojans, the football team suffered a tough loss of 42-21 against Troy Buchanan High School. Although the first two quarters were met with an almost even score and a seemingly easy win, the Spartans eventually came up short at the end of the game on Sept. 15. Junior Grayson Graham, a defensive back on the varsity team, describes the team’s ritual following a difficult loss.
“Rather than a pep talk after a loss, it is more of a reflection of the game and what the team could have done better as well as fix for next time,” Grayson explains. “Then, you put that behind you and train to prepare for the next game.”
Nearing the end of the season, the Spartans are looking to make a comeback. With only around four games left for this varsity team, it’s time to give this sport their all. They plan to do this on Sept. 29 at the homecoming game this Friday against Francis Howell North.
