Starting the season off strong, the varsity hockey club played a preseason game against Fort Zumwalt West ending with a 5-2 win. Junior Thomas Summers, a forward on both varsity and junior varsity, shared how things got tense between him and a opposing player.
“It had started with us both pushing each other around, when he tried to put me in a headlock,” Summers says. “We had played really good the entire game and they were getting super mad about it, honestly that made me want the win even more after we fought.”
After coming close to a tournament win, the Spartans are determined to win their next game against Liberty at 7:50. The game is being held at Maryville University Hockey Center.
