Competing against the Liberty Eagles on Tues, Feb. 17, the boys JV basketball team secured a victory by scoring 46 – 37. Throughout the game, the Spartans maintained a small lead, and kept up with the momentum of the game. Even though the scoreboard reflected a successful outcome, the victory left the team with room for growth. Despite moments of effective teamwork, players acknowledged the lack of overall energy from the lineup. Nevertheless, the team finished strong with a close win. For sophomore Ethan Fredrich, being able to pull through with a win didn’t overshadow the team’s room for growth.
“Our energy was just lacking,” said Fredrich. “We definitely need to work on our communication and our energy. Shots weren’t really falling, but we were able to get through.”
The boys’ next game will be on Friday, Feb. 27, at 5:30pm against Francis Howell North.
