Jazz festival, spring concerts approaching
“At this point there is not a whole lot going on,” said Band Director Nathan Griffin.
There are jazz band competitions this week on Thursday and Friday. These jazz festivals are to be held at St. Charles West High School. Throughout the night, the jazz band will be judged for its performance. Both placements and outstanding soloist awards will be awarded at the end of the night for those deserving rewards for fine playing.
Spring concerts are also on the horizon for May.
The spring concerts will be taking place in the FHC Auditorium. The entire band will be featured, along with selected soloists for a few songs.
“We will also have some district faculty as a part of the concert,” said Mr. Griffin.
Musical pit rehearsals shall be continued this week and the following week in preparation for the “Suessical.” These rehearsal take place after school, from 2:30-5 p.m.
