The varsity cheerleaders kicked off their first performance of the wrestling season at the varsity match on Wednesday, Nov. 30. According to senior Alyssa Fuqua, she and her team were eager to head back into the much anticipated season.

“[Wrestling] is definitely one of my favorite events to cheer for,” said Fuqua. “Even though our team lost, there were a lot of good matches and it was just exciting to watch.”

Fuqua reveals that this year, the team has added more to the routines and also ensures that the fans that they will not be disappointed if they make an appearance to one of the matches this season.

“Wrestling is unlike any other sport we cheer for,” said Fuqua. “It actually keeps us cheerleaders on the edge of our seats, making for an even more exciting routine. You never know what you’re gonna see next.”
