    The Weekend Routine Breaks Routine

If you didn’t catch my last blog, local punk band The Weekend Routine had a show at Cicero’s this past Saturday. Although I unfortunately wasn’t able to make it (the Queen of Dairy required my presence at her royal court), everyone I know who went said it was an overall great show and that The Weekend Routine gave an outstanding performance.

“The show went fantastic. Best show I’ve ever played. [It] was very on point and we hit all our timing marks. The sound guy did really well mixing it. It all combined to create a show that that sounded great,” said senior Cody Jones, drummer of The Weekend Routine.

In fact, the buzz that the boys got from the show was so significant that they’re now booked with a national band in November. They contacted booking agent Mike Judy who listened to their stuff and promptly responded by booking them with a band called Horizons. That show is Nov. 29 at 6:30 p.m.down at Fubar. Tickets are $12.

For those of you who don’t know Fubar is located in Downtown St. Louis at 3108 Locust Street, right down the street from the SLU campus, running parallel with Olive. I’ve been there as a performer and a fan, and it’s a humble venue, that’s for sure. But it’s the people who make the place, and The Weekend Routine is definitely the right group to bring for a fun group of people. You all have more than enough time to request off of work and organize rides and such, so no excuses. I’ll be there, and I hope you go too.
