On April 8, the new officers of National Honor Society were inducted for the for the 2010-2011 school year.

Junior Michelle Howard was inducted as secretary, junior Navi Kaur was made treasurer, junior David Lanza became vice president and junior Logan Miller was elected president.

The newly elected officers have high hopes for the upcoming year.

I hope that we are able to come together,” said Howard.

National Honor Society, a national organization, is a group of students with a grade point average above 3.75 that do service projects such as collecting money for Haiti, volunteering at food pantries and helping at parent-teacher conferences.

Vice president Lanza hopes to further expand into the community by doing projects such as picking up trash.

It looks really good on college resumes,” Lanza said.

Miller hopes to give the society new meaning, and bring the members together as the groups’ new president.

“If I can make it worth people’s time, that would be a good thing,” said Miller.
