Kicking off the 2025-26 winter wrestling season, the varsity boys took on the annual Fort Zumwalt North tournament. They had two finalists in the tournament and multiple placers. Junior Sam Golden worked a lot in the off-season to prepare for the upcoming season and has set some high goals he hopes to accomplish this season.
“I went to the Purler, which is like a club thing, and I trained in the off-season, but before this tournament, I was just thinking that none of that really matters, and I just want to wrestle well and whatever happens happens. Golden said. “We have a big tournament in Kansas City, which is the Stampede, and my goal for that is just to place in the top five and to win state.”
The boys’ next tournament will be on Dec. 19, where they will travel to Kansas City for the Stampede, one of the top high school wrestling tournaments in the country.
