Competing on their home court, the freshman boys basketball team took on John Burroughs high school. On the evening of Jan. 8, the Spartans defeated the opposing team by a large margin, winning 50-18. Throughout the game, the continuous lead gave each member of the team an opportunity to play on the court and cheer on their teammates from the bench. For freshman Tanner Hackmann, the team’s bond created a satisfying victory.
“Our whole team got a pretty equal amount of minutes, and we all played together and hit our shots,” said Hackmann. “I feel like the energy on the bench just got the people in the game going and kind of got the energy going.”
The boys’ next home game will be on Jan. 15, at 5:00pm against Francis Howell North.
