Starting off the second semester, a match off between Liberty and the varsity boys wrestling team on Jan. 7, in the big gym ended in a Central victory. The match ended in a close score of 36-35. A sport like this can be very physically demanding, with many injuries and strict diets. Athletes often try to find good support systems to help them perform their best, including varsity wrestler, junior Sam Golden.
“I get support from my life group leaders from church, and my mom and dad and a lot of people support me so it means a lot”, said Sam Golden.
Having this foundation is important for Golden and others to get through the hardships of being a student athlete. The team will have their next meet will be on Jan. 30, at home against Francis Howell.
