Swimmers stumble in their first meet

With a final score of 159-53, the girls swim team faced its first loss. Even though they failed to defeat Fort Zumwalt West, Coach Erin Thurston thinks they did well.

“We did as well as expected against the GAC champions. One of the reasons we lost was because all three of our divers were out of commission,” Thurston said “Overall, we did good for our first meet.”

As for the next meet, it is a tri-meet against St. Dominic and Fort Zumwalt East on Dec. 9 from 3:30-5 p.m., and the outlook for this meet is as positive as ever for senior Sarah Eastman.

“Considering how we did against West, we should be able to hold our own against St. Dominic and East,” Eastman said. “This time we will be prepared and we are going to win.”
