Swimmers gather steam

With another win under their belts, the girls swim team looks to take on its next opponent, Fort Zumwalt North. According to senior Katie Carroll, the girls defeated St. Dominic in their last meet by a large margin.

“We practice a lot until the day before a meet. The day before our meets, we do less intense practices and go over what we have to do to succeed,” Carroll said.

The Spartans took first in the 200-meter free relay and the medley relay to help get the win against the Crusaders.

“We have to keep working hard to continue to win,” said Carroll.

The girls have two meets in the next two days, the first against Fort Zumwalt North Jan. 21 and the second against Trinity Jan. 22.

“Those meets are very important for us. We need to win both of them so we can continue to do well,” said Carroll.
