The students from the Spanish 2 course have had a serious choice pushed to the forefront of their minds: “Will I take Spanish again next year?” Although two years of a world language isn’t required by the FHSD school district to graduate high school, it is heavily recommended to take for college. Therefore, students like freshman Kami Desir, have to decide whether or not they will continue their language learning education for another year.
“I’m definitely taking Spanish 3,” said Desir. “I really enjoy having a class that’s easy, I have fun, and I get to be around, and talk to my friends.”
As the time to sign up for classes is approaching in January, students are faced with difficult decisions between their interests, what credits they need to graduate, and whether they will take the next step towards foreign language fluency.
