As spring sports come blooming in with winter sports coming to an end, multi-sport athletes shift gears; meanwhile new incoming athletes start to grow a fond enjoyment of the new sports that are in full swing. On March 25 the FHC junior varsity track team held their first meet this season. With returning athletes feeling excitement and content with the season starting up again.In particular, sophomore Olivia Black is a returning member of track and field while also doing cross country in the fall season, this is her second season in both sports. During Black’s time at FHC participating in track and field she has built friendships and communities within the program as it helps her run because Black’s motivation from one another in track and field.
“Talking to everyone who runs the same events helps me connect with my teammates, and during times when my teammates are running, we cheer each other on giving each other the motivation and hyping each other up,” Black said. “[It] helps bring us all together but also gets me excited before my events.”
The next FHC track meet will be held at the Don Muench home stadium for the Todd Bizzell Relays.
