Summer Suarez, Photo Assignments Editor

This is senior Summer Suarez’s second year being a part of publications and her first year being the Photo Assignments Editor. Outside of publications, Suarez enjoys reading, baking and running. She is co-president of Epsilon Beta, an officer of Student Council, and a member of NHS and HOSA. Her favorite part of publications is taking photos and then editing them.

Surrounded by her teammates, while emerged in water is an average night for freshman Eden Rittgers. Swimming since she was eight years old, Rittgers has made a home within the swim community, forming many relationships along the way. Starting her journey in a summer swim league when she was only eight years old, Rittgers has made her way onto the girls varsity swim team as only a freshman. “Being in the water is, like, one of my favorite things,” Rittgers said. “Especially during practices, when I can just kind of go at my own pace. It's very relaxing, just a time for me to like, think and reflect on my day.” Rittgers plans on continuing to swim for Central for the entirety of her high school career, as she loves the community and the strength it gives her.

Gazing around at the Philadelphia Magic Gardens, Thomas Ramos looks in awe at the bright, colorful lights shining off the glass embedded within the walls. Ramos hopes to continue his journey in journalism, and he will facilitate this by going to the University of Missouri Columbia to double major in journalism and plant science, which he received his acceptance email while on the trip.

Junior Kyleigh Harmon strikes the ball, making it slice through the air. The two teams volleyed back and forth before Helias took the point.

Pivoting her body sideways, sophomore Chloe Horton swings her racquet and sends the ball flying over the net. The ball landed in the corner of Helias’ side of the court, winning the point for.

Receiving the serve, Molly Kate Morris holds up her finger as she hits the ball back. This signals to the other person that the serve was out of bounds.

Molly Kate Morris swings her racquet forward to hit a ball. This type of stroke is called a forehand hit.

Isabel Black angles her body following through her swing, hitting a drop shot back over the net. A drop shot is one that lands close to the net on the other team’s, making it hard for the players to reach it in time.

Anticipating the hit, Isabel Black swings her racquet backwards and steps to the ball. Black hit the ball and lobbed it to the opposite side of the court.

Junior Molly Kate Morris reaches her body across the court to try and reach the ball in time to hit it back. Morris reached the ball in time, but was unsuccessful in hitting it over the net.

Ashley Hayes tosses the ball high in the air, preparing to serve. Hayes served an ace, meaning the ball landed in the court before Helias could get to it.

As the ball approaches her, junior Sam Taylor gets ready to volley it back across the net to her opponents from Helias. Taylor hit the ball strongly, sending it quickly to her opponents from Helias.

Meeting the other team at the net, sophomore Isabel Black and her doubles partner grab the ball from her opponents. Trading the tennis balls signals the beginning of a new set.

Kyleigh Harmon begins the play by throwing the ball in the air and serving it to the other team. The ball went into the net, causing Harmon to reserve the ball.

Walking out on the track, sophomore Carter Radeke throws his hands in the air and yells with his teammates. Radeke did this to try and hype up the varsity boys soccer team as they were walking in front of their friends and family.
