As the weather gets colder, fall leaves and the weather gets chillier, fall sports have come to an end while winter sports are in full action. Recently, on Nov.18, the girls varsity basketball team held their annual jamboree at FHC in the large gym. The girls went up against 3 schools consisting of Westminister, St. Joe Academy and Fort Zumwalt North. With an end score of winning ⅔ of those games.While their first official game is Nov. 25 against Nernix high school.The FHC girls basketball season starts up again they have had pre-season practices whether it’s going over drills or spending nights in the weight room, they have also connected with one another more in order to have each other’s back and motivate one another and bonding as a family.
Junior Jayla Robinson expresses how the team and herself has prepared and bonded with one another to stay connected on and off the court for the upcoming season ahead for them.
“We did a lot of [practice] over the summer pre-season on court [routines],” Robinson said. “We bonded at coaches’ houses, even teammates’ houses while over the summer time getting team dinner.”
Whether it’s over the summer or fall season the FHC girls varsity basketball team have come prepared and ready for what this season has come to offer, nonetheless in the process the FHC girls basketball team has connected not only to create a bond as a family off the court but being able to be more connected the court as well.
