Splashing into the pools at the St. Peters Rec-Plex, the girls swim team competed against Fort Zumwalt North on Jan.13. The meet started with the divers making their way to the boards to descend into the water. The Spartans showed their hard work and dedication while winning the meet 106-78. This is freshman Brooke Muschler’s first year on swim and will not be her last. Muschler pushes herself to beat her own time and tries to keep a positive mindset. She is very fond of music and tries to keep her mind on her interests and techniques. Muschler looks up to her upperclassmen on the team and even her step-mom who used to swim as well. The energy of the team is uplifting and is her favorite part about swimming. Muschler spoke on how the team encourages one another.
“My team encourages each other by stranding on the edge of the pool where they finish or turn”, Muschler says. “We yell encouraging things like ‘go go go’ but we also congratulate them after as well.”
Girls swim will have their next match against Fort. Zumwalt South on Jan. 22.
